The EMRC manufactures two composts at the Red Hill compost facility:

Mulch Compost

Mulch Compost is made from recycled organic material. It is AS4454 certifed, providing users with a quality assurance that the material has been processed accordingly to eliminate weed seeds, pathogens and disease. The EMRC is the only local government in Australia to have AS4454 certification.

Mulch Compost is ideal for:

Conserving soil moisture
Reducing weed growth
Gardeners wanting an Australian Standard mulch
Adding natural nutrients to the soil

Soil Compost

Soil Compost is made from recycled organic material. It acts as a natural fertiliser and adds structure to sandy soils.

Soil compost is manufactured from greenwaste collected via dedicated greenwaste bins in the City of Bayswater and may contain small traces of plastic.

Soil Compost is ideal for:

Adding natural nutrients to soils
Improving the growth of plants
