The EMRC and City of Swan will host a free electronic waste (E-waste) recycling event on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 June 2010.

Residents, schools and small business can drop-off their electronic waste at the City of Swan Operations Centre (Cnr Bishop Road and Great Northern Highway, Middle Swan) between 9am and 4pm on both days.

The Middle Swan location will be one of eight locations across Perth hosting the event. Other locations are:
1. City of Stirling Administration Centre, Cnr Civic Place and Cedric Street, Stirling
2. Town of Cottesloe, Cnr Napier St and Marine Parade, Cottesloe
3. SMRC Regional Resource Recovery Centre, 350 Bannister Road, Canning Vale
4. City of Joondalup, Craigie Leisure Centre, Whitfords Avenue, Craigie
5. City of Rockingham, Cnr Chalgrove Ave and Civic Boulevard, Rockingham
6. Sims, 174 Barrington Street, Spearwood
7. City of Armadale Landfill and Recycling Facility, Hopkinson Road, Brookdale

The free E-waste recycling event is hosted by metropolitan regional councils and funded by Apple Inc. Last year's event collected over 210 tonnes of e-waste for recycling.

The event will provide an environmentally responsible disposal option for unwanted electronic items.

All brands of computer equipment, home office equipment, electronic games and tours, and entertainment equipment will be accepted. Items that will not be accepted for recycling include chemical waste, broken monitors and TV screens, white goods and other household appliances.
