Internet Speed Test

Businesses of Perth’s Eastern Region are invited to participate in a survey which will assist in the identification of areas experiencing insufficient data download speeds.

The absence of high speed broadband is holding back growth of existing businesses and is a problem in attracting new business to Perth’s Eastern Region.

The Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC), on behalf of its six member Councils, has been advocating for improved broadband infrastructure to service the needs of business and households in Perth’s Eastern Region.

Following a meeting with Senator Conroy, Federal Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, the EMRC is now preparing a Regional Business Case in an effort to raise the priority of Perth’s Eastern Region in the roll out of the federally funded National Broadband Network.

To build the demand side of the Regional Business Case it is important that the EMRC finds out the download speeds currently experienced by business in Perth’s Eastern Region which covers the following local government areas:

  • Town of Bassendean
  • City of Bayswater
  • City of Belmont
  • Shire of Kalamunda
  • Shire of Mundaring
  • City of Swan

Businesses in Perth’s Eastern Region are invited to complete a simple online test to determine Broadband download speeds.

Please note; the online test is to be completed weekdays (Monday – Friday) between 9am to 5pm to ensure consistency

5 Steps to follow carefully

  • 1: Create new Email with address georgia.armstrong@emrc.org.au

How will my details be used?

By registering on the EMRC Broadband Data Download Speeds Survey, EMRC and member Councils will work directly with the Federal and State Governments to address broadband blackspot areas in the region.

Please note; you may receive follow up by the EMRC, if additional information on your business and internet use is required.
