New home for the Eastern Region Catchment Management Program (ERCMP)

The Eastern Region Catchment Management Program (ERCMP) is an award-winning partnership between the EMRC and the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions (DBCA). The Program is one of the EMRC’s most successful initiatives, demonstrating the success of regional collaboration and reaping the benefits of state and federal government funding.

The ERCMP provides support to a large, active and diverse community network to plan, coordinate and implement bushland restoration projects. The Program also includes the delivery of the award-winning Bush Skills 4 Youth program as well as Bush Skills for the Hills workshops, the Healthy Wildlife Healthy Lives project, Greenpage Newsletter, Farm dams - drying climate refuges for freshwater plants and animals, and revegetation and water quality initiatives.

For the past 25 years the EMRC has hosted the ERCMP. The program as of 5 July 2021 will be hosted at Perth NRM.

With the move will come changes to the delivery of the Program. A stronger focus will be on consultation with landcare groups to determine what the program will deliver in the future. The Program will continue to support the landcare groups of Perth’s Eastern Region, deliver Bush Skills for the Hills workshops and the bi-annual Greenpage newsletter in addition, the Program will hold regular combined catchment group forums as networking and knowledge sharing events, including guest speakers on specialist subjects.
