Susannah Brook Catchment Group Planting Days 2021

We need your help!

This winter SBCG has 2,000 seedlings to plant in Susannah Brook Reserve, Gidgegannup to complete our wildlife corridor restoration project.

 Think Global, Act Local!

Join us on one of our planting days. This is your chance to take part in the care of your environment!

Planting days are:

  • Thursday July 8 @ 9.30 am
  • Saturday July 10 @ 9:30 am
  • Thursday July 15 @ 9:30 am
  • Sunday July 18 @ 9:30 am

Morning tea will be provided. Bring your own water bottle.

The site is located off Strawberry Hill Drive in Gidgegannup – see map below.

Dress for the weather conditions on the day. Wear boots.

Park along Strawberry Hill Drive and walk into the reserve to the planting site.

In 2019 and 2021, SBCG was successful in obtaining grants from the Western Australian Government’s State Natural Resource Management Program to remove non-endemic trees in Susannah Brook Reserve and replant the area with local provenance species.

This restoration work will improve the function of the wildlife corridor in Susannah Brook Reserve by enabling the movement of native fauna and providing suitable habitat for a variety of species.

We have seen an increase in birdlife in the area from previous year’s planting along with some Quenda diggings, so it is very encouraging.

SBCG and volunteers will complete the final section of the wildlife corridor and plant the seedlings during the winter.
