The Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) announces the withdrawal of two participating member Councils and the continuation of operations with the City of Bayswater and the Town of Bassendean.
Effective 1 July 2025, the City of Swan and the Shire of Mundaring will withdraw from the EMRC, as per formal resolutions passed by their respective councils.
Despite these changes, the EMRC will continue to operate and remain an ongoing entity well beyond 1 July 2025. It will continue to offer waste disposal and resource recovery services to its customers, including both member and non-member local governments, commercial clients, and the general public.
The EMRC expresses its gratitude to the departing Councils for their contributions over many years and looks forward to collaborating further with the City of Bayswater and the Town of Bassendean.
