After five years of dedicated service, Marcus Geisler, Chief Executive Officer of the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council, has announced his retirement. The entire EMRC team and I bid farewell to a visionary leader who has steered the company through remarkable growth and success.

During his tenure, Marcus Geisler has exemplified unwavering commitment, strategic foresight, and a passion for circular economy and innovation in our Region. Under his guidance, the company has achieved unprecedented milestones such as diversification and significant revenue growth, developed and delivered a EMRC FOGO strategy, expanded the EMRC market presence, delivered the Hazelmere Waste Transfer station, moved towards commissioning the Circular Energy Recovery plant and fostered a culture of excellence. He has also championed employee development, diversity, and community engagement.

As Marcus Geisler embarks on this new chapter of life, I express my heartfelt gratitude for his tireless dedication. His leadership has inspired us all, and we are confident that his legacy will continue to resonate within the EMRC.

The EMRC Council will now embark on a recruitment process to identify the most suitable candidate to ensure the ongoing delivery of waste management services and to drive circular economy-based initiatives and sustainable benefits for the region.

On behalf of the EMRC Council and the entire EMRC team, we wish Marcus a well-deserved retirement.
