Grants Awarded to Gidgegannup Community Groups

Scouts, cyclists and Gidgegannup Primary School are each $1,500 ahead thanks to the 2019/2020 EMRC Community Grants Program, which saw successful organisations receive their funds at the EMRC’s Red Hill Waste Management Facility on Friday (October 4).

EMRC is an active member of the Red Hill community and surrounds, supporting groups in the area by providing grants of up to $1,500 for projects that demonstrate benefit for the Gidgegannup, Hovea, Parkerville and/or Stoneville communities.

This year’s successful community groups are:

X Speed Australia Cycle Club

  • Gidgegannup Primary School P&C Association
  • Gidgegannup Scout Group

Applicants from the groups were congratulated by the EMRC’s CEO Marcus Geisler and EMRC Chairman David McDonnell.

Mr Geisler said: “These groups are all passionate, committed supporters of their local communities. It is fantastic to be able to contribute in some way to supporting these activities.

“Seeing the gratitude and hearing the wonderful ways these grants can benefit the community is very encouraging,” said Mr Geisler.

The EMRC operates the Red Hill Waste Management Facility on behalf of its six-member Councils – Town of Bassendean, City of Bayswater, City of Belmont, City of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring and City of Swan.
